The Research
Center, a division of the Utah State Archives and History -
free online by Utah History Research Center
This is one of the most useful state resources I have
seen for doing genealogy research. Their web site is educational giving
instructions as well as a full description of their holdings. Their
collection includes court records, land records, military records, mining,
probate records, vital records, and much, much more. There are many online
databases and indexes.
Services
include renting microfilm directly to researchers rather than on
interlibrary loan and the sale of photocopies. If you have relatives
and/or ancestors in Utah, this site is a MUST! |

Utah State History Cemetery Burials Database compiled from Sexton Records -
free online by Utah History Research Center
This searchable database is the result of the Utah
Cemetery Inventory Project. It includes the name of the deceased, birth
data and place, death date and place and burial data and place. I knew my
dad had remarried after his divorce and I knew her first name. I was
surprised when I did a search to learn her middle name, her birth date,
the state where she was born, her death date, and where she is buried. Now
I have clues for further research. It seems you never know what you will
find and many times it is just what you need. |
