By law the
Archives/Library
division of the The Ohio Historical Society collects, preserves and makes
available public records and documents pertaining to Ohio state and local
governments. Genealogical Resources are listed on the Archives/Library
internet page which includes birth, marriage and death records and well as
other valuable records for genealogy research. Be sure to check out this
page.
The Archives/Library does provide a reading room with specific
Hours and
Rules. Several services and resources are made available to patrons not
able to visit the reading room. For example microfilms of newspapers
are also available through
interlibrary loan and some can even be purchased. The

page lists Online Primary Sources, Research Tools and Services as well as
