Lincoln County was created Apr. 14, 1778 from Tryon County. 

Archives
There are Alamance County Records at the North Carolina Archives. The purpose of the archives is to make these records available to the public. The procedure for requesting records is to first study the list of Alamance County Records provided by USGenWeb, then print out the request form, fill it out and mail it to the North Carolina State Archives. The North Carolina State Archives has instructions North Carolina Residents and for Persons Residing Outside of North Carolina.
