How to Record a source from this page in your personal genealogy database.

Whether you are citing a source from this page or other places on the internet such as when you use the Free Family Tree at Ancestry.com, it is important to record the source in a way that anyone using your record can go back to the source and see it for themselves. Details are important so the following is a good way to site a source from this page.

Recording the source:

Example:

TITLE - ID Blaine - CEMETERY "Ward Family Cemetery, Blaine County, Idaho"
AUTHOR OR CONTRIBUTOR -  McMullin, Keven S. submitted Feb. 27, 2000
PUBLISHER - www.interment.net - http://www.interment.net/data/us/id/blaine/ward.htm

REPOSITORY - Internet
CALL NO. - http://www.interment.net/data/us/id/blaine/ward.htm (If there is not enough space in your database, you may want to place this link in the publisher field.)

Record the exact text in the citation.

When your source is on the internet, you can copy and paste it into your personal genealogy software.

Example:

Located northeast of Carey,
Ward, Augusta W., b.Dec. 19, 1853, d.Mar. 31, 1919
Ward, John, b.1887, d.1918
Ward, Thelma, b.1914, d.1918
Ward, Oscar,d.July 1915
Finch, Leo T., b.1902, d.1918
Unmarked grave,
Unmarked grave,
To reach it take ID 26/93 from Carey going northeast toward Arco. Go 6 miles until you come to mile post 212 turn left at Fish Creek Reservoir. Go straight and continue behind Fish Creek Reservoir and make a left turn behind the reservoir, now going North/Northwest You will go nine miles thru a gate and on the left across the pasture you will see the white tombstone markers on the west side of the pasture on the side of a hill.

In this case I copied all the graves in the citation because most likely they are all related. This will give me clues with which to work as I conduct more research.

More examples are on other county pages. I am Donna K. Clark, your AncestorSpy guide.
