Family Genealogy

Welcome to this fascinating treasure hunt.

Back to Home Page.

Yes, this is one of the most fascinating activities you will ever encounter. Who are your ancestors? Do you know? Do you know their stories, their struggles, how they dealt with life. You may not find out everything, but one thing is for sure. You can and will learn a great deal about those who pasted through this life before you. With the tools we have today, it is easier than ever before and it's rewarding. You can start today by using Ancestry's Free Family Tree. This is a fun way to start!

There is no better gift to give to your children and grandchildren than their family history. I have a great grandfather that was a rancher in Missouri. When he had six children and one on the way, he was shot and killed by his hired hand. I have yet to learn all the details. I want to learn more. Can you imagine a pioneer woman, living two or three miles out of town in a farm house with no close neighbors and six children and being pregnant with another. How did she cope. Her oldest three children were daughters. Her oldest son was eight years old and my grandfather was 5 years old when his father was shot and killed. There were cattle to take care of and farm work to do. My heart goes out to this great grandmother. One of her sons became a doctor. Another served in the First World War and died of pneumonia. One son never married and took care of her until she died. But how did she get along until he was old enough to support her? To me she is truly Grand.

You have stories like this too. You can learn a lot about them from the records that were kept. In fact it is amazing how much you can learn.

I will be your guide, your AncestorSpy guide. It will take some time, so keep coming back so you can learn more and more as more and more details, hints and step by step guides are added to this web site. Invite your family, your sister and brothers and your children to join with you. This is a wonderful activity that can keep family members in touch with each other. You might also encourage your friends to find their ancestors by visiting this site.

Until next time, I am Donna K. Clark, your AncestorSpy guide.
