Ancestry is now offering a free (not just a free trial period, but ENTIRELY FREE) family tree. You can start your today, right now. It's easy. All you have do to get started is enter your name and gender and press enter. The next screen will ask for the names of your father and mother. Enter the information you know then click save. Now a screen pops up asking you to enter your email address. This is so when Ancestry adds records or does searches in their database they can notify you that information about individuals on your family tree has been found. You see, they do the tedious searching task for you and leave the fun part of discovery for you to enjoy. Your main task is to decide if the information Ancestry found really pertains to your ancestor. If it does, you can attach it. You can invite other family members to enjoy this fascinating hobby with you. As you build your own family tree, you can work on one section of your family tree and other family members can work on other sections. The green leaves As you explore your family tree, Ancestry will search for your ancestors in their extensive collection of records. When a record is found a green leaf is posted near the your ancestor's name. Hover your mouse pointer of the leaf and the pop-ups will tell you how many records were found. Now the fun begins as you read and examine historical records pertaining your your ancestors. Not enough time? No problem, The leaf will stay there until you do have time. You can spend as little as fifteen minutes at a time or as much time as you want. To learn about one's one ancestors is one of the most enjoyable past times ever. A fabulous heirloom! You can even add photos and stories to your family history heirloom. You see this is not about gathering just the dry bone facts, but about making these ancestors come alive. That is getting to know them and what life was like when they took their turn on earth. Sometimes you will admire them and other times you will be glad that they lived then and you live now. Even so this makes you a more interesting person as you tell your relatives and even your friends about those who lived in times past. Preserve your Family Heirloom by sharing!
